2020 Lehigh Valley Science and Engineering Research Fair

2020 LVSF: Friday, March 13 & Saturday, March 14

2020 LVSF Timeline:

  • November 15 - Project Submissions Due
    • All projects must be submitted with complete paperwork
      • Projects without research plans will not be accepted
  • December 5 (Tentative) - SRC Meeting
    • All projects will be reviewed by the SRC at this meeting
  • December 18 (Tentative) - Status Report 1 Emailed
    • Status Report 1 will be sent to all sponsors
      • Check participant’s name, grade, category, title
      • Share your report with all participants at this time
      • Ask participants to confirm their information
      • SRC comments will be on this report - they must be addressed
      • If you do not receive a report, please contact Jill Forrest (jsf212@lehigh.edu or 610.758.4802)
  • January 13 - Status Report 1 Modifications Due
    • All updates, changes and modifications made based on the SRC comments are due
    • Please send changes by fax 610.758.5124
    • Participants name should be on every page sent by fax
  • January 17 - Status Report 2 Emailed
    • Status Report 2 will be emailed to all sponsors
    • Check participant’s name, grade, category, title
    • There should be no more changes or forms needed at this point
  • January 27 - Status Report 2 Modifications Due
    • Final deadline for submitting any outstanding forms
    • No changes or forms will be accepted after this date
  • February 3 - FINAL Status Report Emailed
    • Sponsors will be emailed the final report
    • Students will be listed as Approved or Disqualified
    • No changes or forms will be accepted

2020 Science Fair Weekend Agenda:

Friday, March 13, 2020 - Registration, project set-up, and safety check for all students from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. They faciltiy closes at 8:00 sharp.

  • If the student is unable to attend registration, someone else (parent, teacher or friend) can set up on the student's behalf. Projects MUST be set up Friday night - no exceptions. Bring your log or research book on Friday.
  • Parents and teachers may view projects during this time. This is the only time allowed for anyone other than participants, judges and fair officials to be on the floor.

Saturday, March 14, 2020 - Fair Day:12:15 PM to 5:00 PM

  • Teachers and parents are NOT permitted on the floor during judging on Saturday. A separate area will be set up for parent and teachers who wish to attend. The public may view projects on Friday evening during the registration and set up time. All students MUST set up their project in Rauch Field House on Friday, March 13th 2020 between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM. If the student is unable to set up their project, a parent or teacher can set up on the student's behalf. Projects will NOT be allowed to be set up on Saturday morning. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE.

LVSF Mission Statement:

The mission of the Lehigh Valley Science and Engineering Research Fair is to increase awareness in the areas of mathematics, science, technology, and engineering, while motivating students in grades sixth through 12th to pursue careers in these field.
